Team Selection
Process
Players MUST confirm their match availability on Teamo by the Tuesday evening before match weekend, at the very latest. Team Captains/Coaches will NOT be chasing individual players for their availability. If players do not complete their availability by the deadline, they will NOT be selected for the weekend’s matches.
Both squads will be selected on a Wednesday and players will be informed the same day. Team selections will be made by the 1st XI Coach, 2nd XI Coach, 1st XI Captain and 1st XI Vice Captain. The 1st XI will be selected first, with the Club’s intention being to select a maximum of 14 players for each match day squad. This is to ensure fair playing time is given to each member of the squad.
Team selection will always be undertaken with the objective of selecting the strongest teams from the players who adhere to the expectations set out below.
Player Expectations
Players are to ensure they are fully up to date with membership fee payments.
It is expected that players display the following attributes throughout the season:
If players cannot attend training on the Monday night, they are encouraged to attend the ‘Pitch Up & Play’ training session, 8-9pm on a Wednesday night instead. Poor attendance at training will result in players not being selected for weekend matches.
Players are not guaranteed a place in a particular team and the two squads will be continuously assessed throughout the season with consideration given to the attributes above. There may be instances where players are asked to move up or down teams for a particular match and it is assumed that each player is willing to play for either team.
